Basketball Recap: High Point Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Shining Light Academy + How To Watch

High Point Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-52 victory over the Shining Light Academy Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2020.

High Point Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Carter Anderson dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten boards and Sonne Williams dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jysen Seymore was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

High Point Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shining Light Academy only posted seven.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zach Evaro, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Lash, who scored 11 points and six boards.

Looking ahead, High Point Christian Academy will head out to face off against New Garden Friends at 6:30 p.m. on the 20th. As for Shining Light Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-20 win against Community Baptist on the 13th.
