Basketball Recap: Buckhorn Comes Up Short

Buckhorn lost against Leslie County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Buckhorn Wildcats took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leslie County Eagles. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leslie County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Hacker, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Hacker a new career-high. Tripp Brashear was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards.

Buckhorn's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Leslie County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Buckhorn Wildcats face off against the Lee County Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leslie County, they will host Clay County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
