Baseball Game Preview: Bethany Community Wolves vs. Clover Garden School Grizzlies

The Bethany Community Wolves will challenge the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bethany Community will be strutting in after a win while Clover Garden School will be coming in after a defeat.

Bethany Community's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Millennium with a sharp 28-0 victory. The Wolves not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19, 2024.

Tripp White and Levi Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, White pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Martin pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, White scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Martin scored a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jesse Tucker and Brooks McDowell did most of the damage at the plate: Tucker went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while McDowell got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Tucker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan West, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Bethany Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only posted a batting average of .118.

Meanwhile, Clover Garden School came up short against Cornerstone Charter on Monday and fell 5-1. The Grizzlies have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Bethany Community now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clover Garden School, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Bethany Community suffered a grim 18-5 defeat to Clover Garden School in their previous meeting back in March of 2020. Can Bethany Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
