Basketball Preview: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights vs. Blue Ridge Knights
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Blue Ridge Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will be strutting in after a victory while the Knights will be coming in after a defeat.
On Monday, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond earned a 59-46 victory over the Timberwolves. The victory was just what Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond needed coming off of a 66-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Claire Seal continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Herschberger, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Sullivan on the road and fell 69-8.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Blue Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond against the Knights in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 66-17 win. With Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond ahead 46-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
