Softball Recap: Red Level Takes a Loss

Red Level lost against Brantley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Level Tigers fell just short of the Brantley Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payten Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Amaya Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Red Level's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Brantley, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. As for Brantley, they are taking a road trip to take on Georgiana at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Georgiana has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.6 runs per game on average), something Brantley will no doubt try to take advantage of.
