Marshall was led to victory by Robert Fields and Tayvion Lawrence. Fields scored 23 points, while Lawrence scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawrence has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Sterne lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rico Duenas. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Duenas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ewan McBride was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Sterne, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Marshall will head out on the road to square off against the Pumas at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
