Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Gorman Crusaders vs. McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs

The Bishop Gorman Crusaders will head out to square off against the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bishop Gorman will bounce into Friday's game after beating Dallas Christian, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Bishop Gorman blew past Dallas Christian 65-40 on Tuesday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Chargers are ranked 831st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, McKinney Christian Academy had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 74-46 win over the Chargers. The Mustangs pushed the score to 61-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chargers cut but never quite recovered from.

McKinney Christian Academy's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 33-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for Bishop Gorman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

Bishop Gorman came up short against McKinney Christian Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 72-64. Can Bishop Gorman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
