Basketball Recap: Fountain Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fountain Central hadn't done well against Lafayette Central Catholic recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs walked away with a 39-31 victory over the Knights. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Fountain Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but BELLA BACON led the charge by dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds BACON has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was KENDYL NOLAN, who put up nine points.

Fountain Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Fountain Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fountain Central will challenge Terre Haute South Vigo at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will take on McCutcheon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
