Preview: Alvord Bulldogs vs. Boyd Yellowjackets
After three games on the road, Alvord is heading back home. They will take on the Boyd Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alvord, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Alvord had just enough and edged Bob Hope out 51-48. 51 seems to be a good number for Alvord as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Boyd pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-56 to Sweetwater.
The losing side was boosted by Payton Boyer, who scored 27 points. He scored a full 48.2% of Boyd's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Trey Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Alvord now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Boyd, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
