Basketball Recap: Daniel Palacios Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Loving

Tatum's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 55-43 win over the Loving Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Coyotes: when they faced off against the Falcons back in January, they had to take a 62-56 loss.

Tatum got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Palacios out in front who went 8-for-13 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Palacios a new career-high. Kooper Kerby was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Tatum was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loving only six assists.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Murillo, who posted ten points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cameron Allen, who put up six points and eight boards.

Tatum's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 6-18. As for Loving, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Tatum wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-49 defeat against Eunice on the 18th. As for Loving, they have also already played their next game, a 68-43 loss against Hagerman on the 18th.
