Monmouth-Roseville has gone 9-1 against Mercer County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Monmouth-Roseville Titans will host the Mercer County Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Monmouth-Roseville will be strutting in after a win while Mercer County will be coming in after a defeat.

Monmouth-Roseville will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Illini West, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Monmouth-Roseville took down Illini West 50-34 on Monday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Chargers are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Mercer County took on Liberty on Monday. Mercer County took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty.

Despite the loss, Mercer County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Shadia Williams went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Hofmann, who posted seven points and ten rebounds.

Mercer County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Monmouth-Roseville was able to grind out a solid victory over Mercer County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 59-48. Does Monmouth-Roseville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mercer County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
