Baseball Recap: Waukee Falls Short Against Ranked Fort Dodge

Waukee faced Fort Dodge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dodgers earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Having lost for the first time this season, Waukee fell to 10-1. As for Fort Dodge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Waukee is taking a road trip to challenge Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Dodge, they will welcome Mason City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Dodgers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
