It was a good run, but Hamden unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guilford Grizzlies. The Green Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Guilford scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21.
Bella Green paced Hamden's offense, picking up 17 kills. Green got some help from Tamia Walters and her 31 assists. Walters was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Hamden's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Guilford, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
