Baseball Recap: Avon Lake Takes a Loss

Avon Lake and Harding squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Avon Lake had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-5. The Shoremen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avon Lake got a good showing from Bailey Thibeault, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Thibeault has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josh Bobrowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Alex Soloff was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Avon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Harding, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Avon Lake nor Harding have any future games scheduled.
