Basketball Preview: Northwood Chargers vs. Grace Christian Crusaders
The Northwood Chargers are on the road again on Monday and plays the Grace Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Northwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Crusaders are ranked first).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Northwood, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-36 loss to the Hawks.
Despite their loss, Northwood saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Skylar Adams, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Alyia Roberts, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mount Zion Christian Academy 64-39. Grace Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 25 points or more this season.
Northwood's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Grace Christian, they pushed their record up to 25-0 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
