Soccer Game Preview: Lorena vs. Burnet

The Lorena Leopards will face off against the Burnet Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Burnet better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Lorena's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Lorena really gets things going. The Leopards never let Connally get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. That six-goal margin sets a new team best for Lorena this season.

Meanwhile, Burnet waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Bumblebees by a score of 4-2. Four seems to be a good number for Burnet as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Lorena's victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Burnet, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-1.

Lorena got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Burnet by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
