Football Recap: FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers vs. Wakulla War Eagles

FAMU DRS played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 48-6 loss at the hands of the Wakulla War Eagles. The Baby Rattlers have struggled against the War Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Even if they lost, FAMU DRS' defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Knowledge Batten refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.

Owen Klees had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 333 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 33 yards for Wakulla. With that strong performance, Klees is now averaging an impressive 3.5 passing touchdowns per game. A healthy portion of Klees' aerial production (143 yards to be exact) went to Jordan Barnes, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

FAMU DRS' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wakulla, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, FAMU DRS will challenge Maclay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Baby Rattlers will need to watch out since the Marauders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Wakulla, they will head out on the road to face off against Suwannee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the War Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
