Basketball Game Preview: Lake Gibson Braves vs. Vanguard Panthers

Two dominant guards in A'Darrion Willis and Turral Berry are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lake Gibson Braves just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Vanguard Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Lake Gibson had to suffer through a 81-52 loss at the hands of Discovery. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Spartans are ranked 58th).

Meanwhile, Vanguard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-61 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Meade.

Vanguard's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Lake Gibson, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Lake Gibson skirted past Vanguard 67-64 in their previous meeting back in November. Will Lake Gibson repeat their success, or does Vanguard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
