Preview: Grulla Gators vs. Economedes Jaguars
Grulla is 0-4 against Economedes since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Grulla Gators will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Economedes Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. Grulla will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Even though Grulla has not done well against La Feria recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grulla secured a 50-46 W over La Feria.
Meanwhile, Economedes didn't have too much breathing room in their match against San Perlita on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 53-49 win. The win was just what Economedes needed coming off of a 61-39 defeat in their prior game.
Nathaniel De La Garza was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Economedes' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandro Zurita, who scored 11 points.
The victory got Grulla back to even at 5-5. As for Economedes, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
