Soccer Recap: Sequoyah Gets the Win

Sequoyah's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Chiefs who were credited with the win. The Sequoyah Chiefs got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the South-Doyle Cherokees' three.

Sequoyah's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-8-1. As for South-Doyle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoyah will welcome Tellico Plains at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South-Doyle, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Gatlinburg-Pittman at 6:30 p.m.
