Basketball Recap: Red Lake Comes Up Short

Red Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 71-38 loss at the hands of the Lake of the Woods Bears. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.

Rhianna May and Lyreanna McClain certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. May dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while McClain posted 11 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave May a new career-high in steals (six).

Red Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Lake of the Woods, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-9 record.

Red Lake has already played their next matchup, a 74-37 loss against Bagley on the 24th. Lake of the Woods has also already played their next contest (against Bigfork), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
