Soccer Game Preview: Heights vs. Bellaire

Heights hasn't had much luck against Bellaire recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Heights Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Bellaire Cardinals at 4:30 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Heights' offense. They lost 4-0 to Lamar on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Texans are ranked 77th).

Meanwhile, Bellaire had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lobos an 8-0 shutout. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Cesar E. Chavez from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Mckenna Lindsay led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Bellaire is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven games. As for Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
