Recap: Richlands Wildcats vs. Dixon Bulldogs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Swansboro, the Richlands Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 47-42 W over Dixon. That's another feather in the cap for Richlands, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Lenny Halftner-Hunter, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jayden Biggs was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Dixon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Tozier, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Tozier has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Anderson-Sidbury, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Richlands' win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Dixon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Richlands will play host again and welcome West Carteret, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Carteret is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Dixon, they will head out on the road to face off against Swansboro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Swansboro's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 matches.
