Basketball Recap: Palmetto Comes Up Short

Palmetto lost against Manatee back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Palmetto Tigers lost to the Manatee Hurricanes at home by a 58-41 margin. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Palmetto still got an impressive performance from Sanaii Rich, who posted 36 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Rich's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manatee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justine Wilson, who earned 20 points. Another player making a difference was Tamia Searls, who scored 13 points.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Manatee, their record now sits at 11-8.

Palmetto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-40 loss against Parrish Community on the 23rd. Manatee has also already played their next contest, a 53-17 win against Braden River on the 23rd.
