Basketball Recap: Eastern Guilford Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Eastern Guilford duked it out withRandleman on Thursday. The Eastern Guilford Wildcats fell 40-27 to the Randleman Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Tigers are ranked 207th).

Randleman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacquline McDaniel, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Chenleigh Robinson was another key player, putting up 13 points and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastern Guilford and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Randleman, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Eastern Guilford won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Trinity at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Randleman, they and Lexington will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Lexington will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Randleman surely won't give up without a fight.
