Football Game Preview: Enloe Eagles vs. Athens Drive Jaguars + How To Watch

The Enloe Eagles will challenge the Athens Drive Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Enloe has four straight wins, Athens Drive has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Enloe will bounce into Friday's game after beating Wakefield, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 40-14 margin over the Wolverines on Friday.

Enloe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ziyeir Mclean-Leach, who rushed for 110 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase White, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Enloe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 371 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 250 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Enloe's defense stepped up as well, laying out Grayson Clopton three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Derek Matthis and Jacob Stanford, who each picked up one sack apiece. Enloe received some extra help from Elijah Jeffreys, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Athens Drive fell victim to Leesville Road and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Pride. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Pride are ranked 34th).

Enloe's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Athens Drive, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Enloe strolled past Athens Drive in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 26-7. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
