Softball Recap: Marquette Takes a Loss

Kingsford hit Marquette with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Redmen fell just short of the Flivvers by a score of 8-7. The loss continues a trend for the Redmen in their meetings with the Flivvers: they've now lost four in a row.

Halle Haynes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. Another player making a difference was Eva Dewitt, who earned three RBI.

Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Kingsford, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

While Marquette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
