Soccer Game Preview: Palmdale vs. Highland

The Palmdale Falcons will take on the Highland Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Palmdale took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past Eastside 3-2.

Meanwhile, Highland entered their tilt with Lancaster on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Eagles. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Eagles are ranked 960th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmdale's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four games. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6-1 record this season.

Palmdale was able to grind out a solid victory over Highland in their previous meeting back in January, winning 3-1. Does Palmdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
