Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Christian Academy Lions vs. Bourgeois Braves

Covenant Christian Academy is 9-1 against Bourgeois since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Covenant Christian Academy will square off against Bourgeois at 7:00 p.m. Covenant Christian Academy will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

It was a proper cat-fight when Covenant Christian Academy faced off against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy on Friday. Covenant Christian Academy blew past Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 20 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bourgeois). They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over St. James on Friday. The Braves not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 13, 2024.

Bourgeois got a massive performance out of Evan Ledet, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Ledet a new career-high. Another player making a difference was William Brown, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Ledet wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bourgeois kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for Bourgeois: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.8.

Covenant Christian Academy pushed their record up to 22-0 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bourgeois, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-19.

Covenant Christian Academy took their victory against Bourgeois in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 13-0. Will Covenant Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Bourgeois has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
