Basketball Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Niceville Eagles
Tate is 8-2 against the Eagles since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tate Aggies will face off against the Niceville Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Tate didn't have too much trouble with the Gators on the road as they won 64-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tate.
Tate's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Deonne Williams, jr., who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Williams, who scored nine points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Niceville came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over Milton.
It was another big night for Anwar Conley, who shot 4-for-4 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Kowal, who scored 15 points.
Tate's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Niceville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Tate ended up a good deal behind the Eagles when the teams last played last Friday, losing 60-43. Can Tate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
