Softball Recap: Cocoa Tigers vs. Cocoa Beach Minutemen

Cocoa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cocoa Beach Minutemen. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Minutemen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kindle Gold was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 4-for-5. Those runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerriana Pollard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Gold wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cocoa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cocoa's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cocoa Beach, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cocoa will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while.
