Baseball Recap: Chugiak Comes Up Short

Chugiak fell victim to Dimond and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chugiak got a good showing from Tyson Morgan, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morgan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Chugiak's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Dimond, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Chugiak wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-1 win against Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the 18th. As for Dimond, they will welcome South Anchorage at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
