Basketball Recap: Gray's Creek Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gray's Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Union Pines Vikings, falling 49-29. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 70-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Gray's Creek lost, don't look at Layla Fox. Despite the final result, she posted eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and seven steals. Fox is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Gray's Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Union Pines, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
