Football Recap: Stringer's Rushing Dominance Continues

After only 12 points in their last matchup, Stringer made sure to put some points up on the board against Wayne Academy on Friday. The Red Devils came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 38-30. The Red Devils pushed the score to 38-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.

Stringer had a senior duo take command as Jaheim Campbell rushed for 125 yards and three TDs and Kyler Gavin rushed for 131 yards on only eight carries. Campbell's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Stringer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 302 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Stringer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Wayne Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Stringer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-30 victory against Richton on the 17th. As for Wayne Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-7 defeat against Columbia Academy on the 17th.
