Football Recap: Oakland Starts off Right with Win over Boron

Oakland had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over the Boron Bobcats.

Boron's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Andrew Gartica, who picked up 146 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and Jalen York, who threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Oakland and Boron will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Wildcats see the field they'll take on Ripon at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Boron, their break will end when they face Arvin at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
