Volleyball Recap: Christian Brothers Takes a Loss

The Christian Brothers Falcons came up short against the Woodcreek Timberwolves on Monday and fell 3-1. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Christian Brothers ultimately came up short, they really made Woodcreek work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 29-27, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18.

Philipp Morozov paced Christian Brothers' offense, picking up 19 kills. Morozov got some help from Nolan Xavier Nguyen and his 32 assists. Finally, Morozov was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Woodcreek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Smith, who had 21 assists and nine digs. Those nine digs gave Smith a new career-high. Levi Black was another key player, getting 19 assists and nine digs.

Christian Brothers' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Woodcreek, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Christian Brothers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Ponderosa on the 12th. As for Woodcreek, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Vista del Lago on the 12th.
