Basketball Preview: Triway Titans vs. West Holmes Knights
The Triway Titans will head out on the road to square off against the West Holmes Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Triway's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
Triway put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 58-19 victory over Tuslaw. Given Triway's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Mustangs are ranked 796th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, West Holmes pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mansfield Senior 65-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Holmes in their matchups with the Tygers: they've now lost four in a row.
Triway is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for West Holmes, their defeat was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Triway strolled past the Knights in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 65-51. Will Triway repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
