Football Game Preview: Leesville Wampus Cats vs. Pineville Rebels

Leesville is 7-1 against Pineville since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wampus Cats will head out on the road to take on the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. Pineville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Leesville, who comes in off a win.

Leesville took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-15 victory over Many.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Braxton, who rushed for 156 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Braxton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trel Broom, who rushed for 67 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Leesville's run defense was locked in: Many could only muster 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Marquale Williams for the heroic effort on defense: he. Leesville didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.5.

Leesville's defense didn't let Kellen Cox., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Jakori Celestine was especially locked on to Many's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Pineville had to suffer through a 56-14 loss at the hands of Tioga. The loss put an end to the Rebels' undefeated start to the season.

Leesville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pineville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Leesville against Pineville in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 41-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wampus Cats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
