Flag Football Recap: Valerie Chavez Leads Bruce Randolph's Defense on Tuesday

Bruce Randolph lost against Denver West back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Grizzlies came up short against the Cowboys, falling 46-24. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even if they lost, Bruce Randolph's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Valerie Chavez was especially locked on to Denver West's QB and sacked her twice. Bruce Randolph got some further help from Ty McPherson: she made eight total tackles and defended five passes in addition to snagging three interceptions.

Bruce Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Denver West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bruce Randolph will face off against Denver North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 6.6 points per game this season, so the Grizzlies' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Denver West, they will take on George Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
