Basketball Recap: Westhope/Newburg Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Macy Bryans and Lydia Bryans

After flying high against Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon last Tuesday, Westhope/Newburg came back down to earth. The Westhope/Newburg Sioux lost 68-48 to the Berthold Bombers on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Sioux in their matchups with the Bombers: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Westhope/Newburg had strong showings from Lydia Bryans, who posted 12 points, and Macy Bryans, who dropped a double-double with 11 boards and ten assists. Macy has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marleigh Henry, who had seven points and six boards.

Westhope/Newburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Berthold, their record is now 14-2.

As of now, neither Westhope/Newburg nor Berthold have any future games scheduled.
