Softball Recap: Earlville Takes a Loss

Earlville entered their matchup against Newark on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Red Raiders lost 11-4 to the Norsemen. If the Red Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Norsemen when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Earlville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Newark, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Earlville will square off against Mendota at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newark, they will challenge LaSalle-Peru at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Norsemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
