Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Wilkinson County on Tuesday, Jefferson County came back down to earth. The Tigers took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Puckett Wolves on Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson County lost, don't look at Jaiden Greenleaf. Despite the final result, he shot 69% from the field on his way to 25 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodrell Wise, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds.

Puckett's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but MJ Parker led the charge by putting up 24 points. Another player making a difference was Matt Rankin, who posted 21 points.

Jefferson County dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Puckett, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Jefferson County has already played their next game, a 48-32 win against Amite County on the 11th. As for Puckett, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-47 defeat against McLaurin on the 11th.
