Sukora ' Sip' Cooper Jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 211 yards and three scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Life Oak Cliff's leading receiver Joshua Washington was ' Sip' Cooper Jr's top target yet again, picking up 132 receiving yards and two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Life Oak Cliff was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palmer, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-28 win over Whitesboro on Friday.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Eric Cisneros and Colt Fagan. Cisneros had a great game and rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Fagan did his best for the losing side, throwing for 190 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.
Palmer's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Cole Spurlock was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Palmer received some extra help from Blake Keimig, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Life Oak Cliff, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Life Oak Cliff has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 298.3 passing yards per game. Palmer, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 290.9 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Life Oak Cliff was taken down by Palmer 62-33 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 48-12.
