League recap: Tilden stuns Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tilden, who took down 530th ranked Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville, 24-12.

Kelly's Dario Almazan rumbled for the longest rushing play in Chicago Public Intra-City 2 this season in his game against Hirsch last week. Almazan ran for 72 yards on the play and finished with 104 on the day as his team bested the Huskies.

Rafael Calderon was a passing and rushing force as Kelly bested Hirsch. He completed 7 passes for 145 yards and also ran for 35 yards. Calderon's favorite target this week was Roberto Pedroza, who caught 2 passes for 70 yards.

Abel Diaz and Jorge Barrientos gave Juarez a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Diaz threw for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Barrientos ran for 140 yards. Teammate Irvin Navarrette added to the ground attack by rushing for 40 yards.

The Eagles' Anthony Nash and Michael Gaines led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Nash has thrown for 498 yards this season, while Gaines, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 11 catches for 222 yards. Almazan from Angelo Hernandez's team leads the league in rushing with 589 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville's Gaines goes up against the Trojans' Rene Salas.

Next week's game between Lorenzo Johnson's team and Kelly will feature an aerial matchup as Nash tests his arm against Salas' defensive ability.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Eagles and the Trojans face off next week.

The Eagles are in third place, while Chicago International Charter-Longwood Academy is in second place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Juarez takes on the Panthers. Anthony Swope's team has allowed 75 points this season, while Chicago International Charter-Longwood Academy has given up 66. The Eagles allowed 0 points last week as they beat Gage Park.

Nash and William Nash provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Blue Devils. The connection was good for 52 yards, the longest such play in Chicago Public Intra-City 2 this season.
