Volleyball Recap: Holy Cross Has No Trouble Against Waterbury Career Academy

Holy Cross had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 9-3 to make it four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Quinn Barry paced Holy Cross' offense, picking up 11 kills. Barry got some help from Reese McGarrity and her 26 assists. Ava DePaulo and Alexa Ruggia kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

As for Waterbury Career Academy, with the loss, they broke their seven-match winning streak and moved their record to 9-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since November 4, 2024.

Despite the loss, Waterbury Career Academy still got an impressive performance from Erika Mila-Perez, who had 15 digs.

Holy Cross wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Wolcott on the 9th. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Derby on the 7th.
