Baseball Game Preview: Vaux Big Picture vs. Simon Gratz Bulldogs

Vaux Big Picture will square off against the Simon Gratz Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Vaux Big Picture easily dispatched Overbrook on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Vaux Big Picture fell just short of Hill Freedman World Academy by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The loss put an end to Vaux Big Picture's undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Simon Gratz hadn't done well against Saul recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Simon Gratz was the clear victor by a 22-16 margin over Saul.

The team relied heavily on Luisangel Jacquez, who scored four runs and stole nine bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Fran Reinoso, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one double.

Simon Gratz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .947. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Vaux Big Picture fell to 2-1. As for Simon Gratz, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
