Basketball Game Preview: Zapata Hawks vs. Robstown Cottonpickers

Zapata is on a nine-game streak of home losses, Robstown a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Zapata Hawks will host the Robstown Cottonpickers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Zapata came up short against Tuloso-Midway and fell 55-47. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors & Cherokees 17-12 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Robstown also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to King by a score of 66-56. While losing is never fun, the Cottonpickers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1564th, while the Brahmas are ranked 776th).

Zapata's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Robstown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-25.

Zapata won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting two weeks ago, slipping by Robstown 47-46. Will Zapata repeat their success, or does Robstown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
