Basketball Game Recap: Capital Prep Trailblazers vs. University Hawks

Capital Prep won the last time they faced University, and Syre Gillespie did his part to make sure it happened again. The Capital Prep Trailblazers put the hurt on the University Hawks with a sharp 86-66 win on Wednesday thanks to Gillespie, who posted 52 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Capital Prep's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Javaris Spencer, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-14. As for University, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Capital Prep will host Prince RVT at 6:00 p.m. on February 19th. Prince RVT is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. University does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
