Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for South Tahoe

South Tahoe had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past the Sparks Railroaders, posting a 72-36 victory. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly 36 points.

Leading South Tahoe to victory were Oscar Mendoza and Parker Bryant. Mendoza went 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with six assists and four steals, while Bryant went 5 for 7 to rack up 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals. What's more, Bryant also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kai McClain, who posted nine points and five boards.

South Tahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

South Tahoe pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for Sparks, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

Looking ahead, South Tahoe will welcome Elko at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in South Tahoe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games. Sparks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
