Softball Recap: David Anderson Find Success

David Anderson won the last time they faced Wellsville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Tigers 4-2. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by exactly two runs.

Kamryn Peruchetti spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, David Anderson's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

David Anderson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Wellsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Anderson will take on Leetonia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Wellsville, they are taking a road trip to take on Heartland Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.14 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
